Cell Block and Guard-line Changes

Cell Block:
So, the CB sucks ass so much. It’s very annoying that the capture points for LDs are within the CDs spawn, meaning once CDs outside the CDC are dead its a massive bottleneck/stalemate. I have a proposal to change this.

In the attached graphic, you see what appears to be a donut. This new shape to the CB introduces some new architecture to the CDC. This shape will add depth to the CB, and make entering it slightly harder, as CDs will have more cover on their side. Also you can see the combative tunnels were extended, and a green line is placed over the CB. This is to mark a tunnel above/below CB that connects both towers, making entering/exiting CB safer for DFSC retrival. There is also a path between FH and the Common Area that CDs can hack, making accessing that area during riots or really anytime slightly easier.

HOWEVER, you will no longer need to push into the CB, as much atleast, outside of capturing DFSCs. Why is that, you may ask? As you can see, there is an added tower in the mines close to deep cavern/fort henry. You can also see, that there are red asterisks on the 2 towers outside CB and near a gate within CB. Those are the new capture points. These towers are the new LD buttons, and the marked gate must be closed in order to activate the LD. However due to the moving of the towers, there would be a hard coded 5 minute timer before any Omicron LDs (buttons, terminal, DDA) can be called with the exception of Hostage and Rouge LDs.

Pros: Moves LD objectives outside of CD spawn, removing the endless waves of CD campers that can simply spawn ontop of pushing combatives, and requires that CDs push outside of their spawn to prevent a LD.
Cons: Could be too easy to push/CD complaints

Guard Line
The GL becomes the TB (testing block), an area where the only way for CDs to enter is to be admitted by SD. the doors are un-hackable all around, no manholes/breakable glass, CDs in here are only allowed in once disarmed and are allowed to wait for testing.

I also added a new hallway that connects the TB, visitation booth, and Omicron BS together, in an attempt to allow FP easier access, and disarmed CDs will be able to enter easily as well.

This change forces rioting away from the GL, as there is no way to escape from it, and SD will only patrol the inside and remotely let CDs into an airlock (the frisk zone) where they will be disarmed and allowed through.

This allows for a “stockpile” of CDs ready to be tested upon, or used for other civil events. This also allows other opportunities for civil personnel to interact with CDs. MD/DDA can host mass exams within the testing block, the visitation booths can be opened up for normal FP access, perhaps the VA is extended into the mines farther.

This change would mean that more escape routes will be added to the CDC mines, but this change allows SD to spread out more around the CDC mines, the site, and removes the bottle neck of guarding the GL

Combative tunnels leading directly to the towers makes it literally impossible to stop any LD. I think the current system is fine as is because combatives can tear gas crowds of CD and easily push their way in. Also, if frisk zones were implemented there should be another way to bypass them other than shooting them up. Furthermore, an airlock for frisk zones is a bit of a stretch as there would literally be no way to bypass them. Next, this idea would COMPLETELY remove the purpose of pushing gaurdline and the only way for CDs to actually escape would be through manholes which are normally camped. However, if this suggestion was implemented there should be some kind of reimbursement for CDs.

Love this please add it someone asked me to criticise is cause they don’t want it to be fair

Back when I was in SD having the cells auto LD during sleep was a pretty good solution, otherwise the ideas—especially the TB—are really good and should be added if Omicron ever gets revamped.

So, the CB sucks ass so much. It’s very annoying that the capture points for LDs are within the CDs spawn, meaning once CDs outside the CDC are dead its a massive bottleneck/stalemate.

the reason why it’s like this is because SD have several secure flank routes from their spawn into mines, one of them is literally 50 studs away from the CB.
so during uproars, and even during organized riots, it’s extremely difficult to even hold mines, since there are several flank routes, one of them insanely hard to guard since it’s on a tower, not to mention you still need to guard the catwalks system as well
it’s basically impossible for any uproars to actually hold outside of CDC, since the coordination and strength needed to push out of omicron is basically impossible to reach

if you removed the bottleneck at CB, uproars would literally last 5 minutes, as there’s basically no way to stop SD from reaching towers
if you make the lockdown point outside of CB, and don’t remove the combative tunnels, it becomes even more one sided, as CDs have basically no way to stop combatives from pushing mines, mainly because there are too many entrances to guard
the hard coded 5 minute timer before omicron lockdowns wouldn’t even do anything as uproars already need to last 5 minutes before combatives can lockdown
the marked gate wouldn’t really help here either, since combatives can just flank into CB, kill whichever CD was hacking the door, or just use the flank to shut the first door and create a makeshift airlock in the hallway that connects CB to the rest of inner CDC

if you moved the lockdown points into mines AND removed combative spawn routes into omicrons, i think uproars would be much better, as CDs can actually push out of omicron during an uproar to have actual combat, and uproars wouldn’t be no where near as long, since the chokepoint/stalemate at CB was removed

i get the idea of the testing block, but the main problem with it is that i’m pretty sure that it wouldn’t be possible to implement as any future DDA authed riots would literally have no way to push outside of CDC without using escape routes
it’d probably have major balancing implications too, since CD number advantage wouldn’t really exist anymore with it (since the majority of CDs aren’t going to be rioting)
and maybe too much of this games balance is reliant on SD inactivity CD numbers
especially considering the fact that SD would be significantly freed up of things to do since they no longer have to hold GL
