🛠️ New Department: Engineering & Logistics + MORE!☢️

The Engineering & Logistics Department will be focused on repairing certain areas of the facility and up keeping them, along with that they will control the facility reactor.

The Reactor

The Engineering & Logistics department will need to control the reactor and ensure that everything is going accordingly. Hostile Forces and Rogue D-Class will be able to explode the Reactor. If the Reactor explodes it will not detonate the entire facility but instead cause huge havoc and cause a lot of chaos and allow for Class-D’s to escape easily, in the event the Reactor explodes here are some ideas for things that could occur:

  • The Hacking device can instantly open the majority of doors within the facility.

  • All fire doors can be manually opened.

  • All lights in the facility are dimmed a lot.

  • Pipes around the facility will explode and damage those who go near it.

  • SCPs that use a lot of electricity to stay contained have a higher chance of breaching.

Storage System

The Engineering and Logistics department will now have the responsibility of keeping the facility well maintained through taking items out of storage, some duties will be:

  • Refilling Field Bandage stations.

  • Repairing broken glass.

  • Refilling gas mask stations.

  • Repairing doors and gates that may break over time.

  • Repairing broken vehicles and towing them.

Building System

The Engineering and Logistics department will be responsible for resource management and strategical design. The department will be able to utilise the Storage System to take out decorations, barriers and more to assist the foundation.

Some examples of building items would be:

  • Placing cameras for people to surveil.

  • Placing barriers to benefit combatives.

  • Placing computer stations around for personnel to use.

  • Decorating certain areas of the facility.

  • Small decorations like radios and plants and signs.

New Room Additions

New empty areas will be added for the Engineering and Logistics department to decorate and build in, to prevent people from creating inappropriate builds there will be an anti-abuse system which will place a radius of how close the items are, this would ensure that it is harder to create inappropriate builds and more, along with that there could be a mandatory need for a moderator to be in the game in order to build.

Examples of this are:

  • Sleeping Quarters for FP.

  • Therapy rooms in the Medical Department.

  • Spa rooms for people to relax in and get long nails and new maybe even purchase special Robux skins for new uniforms. DDA could be the reception and let people in the spa to relax, maybe even hygiene could be added?

  • Dining area and commons rooms.

New Item Limits

All usable items will now have the storage system involved which means there will now be limits on how much of the item you can use.

Examples of this would be:

You now get a limited amount of bandage and splint rolls, and a limited amount of tourniquets and you have to put new batteries in your defibrillators and medical scanners.

The MPLS and Flashlights now run on limited batteries.

Refilling Armoury Stocks & New Different Heists

The Engineering and Logistics department will need to refill foundation combative armoury locations. Class-D’s and Hostiles may raid these locations and steal the resources and bring them back to the Class-D vendors or the Hostile Smuggler.

Riot System

A New protocol is added which will be activated when a riot begins. The Protocol is called “Riot”.

Class-D’s can steal items from the armoury and sell them at the smuggler or bring them to a Class-D vendor to add items for a riot.

  • Class-D can either:

Pay for riots upfront.

Use credits to purchase riots.

Save for mega global riots across all servers by inserting credits and putting in items you’ve stolen from the foundation.

All this can be done at a hostile/d-class vendor.

Character Creation

With the new update you can now create your own character in the main menu and decorate it as much as you want. Choose from free uniforms to paid skins and more. You will need to find these items by going around the facility as FP or CD. Find restocked items and steal them to receive gun skins and more.

Balancing

Ways this can be balanced are:

  • Cooldowns on breaking items so they need repairing less.

  • Pre-made basic builds for certain areas.

  • There’s much more that can be balanced! Speculate in the comments below.

Conclusion

This would be a great addition to the game and create a more diverse and interesting experience for everyone. I feel as if I don’t really need to persuade anyone about why this should be added, it’s an undeniably divine fit for the game and can be balanced easily. Once again please speculate on what could be balanced in the comments this would be such an interesting thing to see in the game. I would quite literally be addicted to the game if this were added.

If you’re going to have logistics, you let everyone do it. You’ll run into problems and really annoying ones at that if you have nobody around to do it.
That is if logistics in on itself is even a wise addition.

Like the last suggestion. No. It will be annoying to suddenly run out batteries or uses.

It can all be balanced dear! Just make it so everyone can refill it to an extent if no engineers are online! Along with that you can make it so it rarely goes out of stock by having a lot of room to store things in.

Then make it less laggy!

No you could just have some stink particles that appear after ages of not cleaning yourself!

when you’re running with the FPS and lag pathos has, every single room kinda matters
which does kinda ruin the “vastness” of the site and exploring it/experiencing it, but is kinda needed to keep the game running well enough under the worst conditions
you can have stuff like therapy rooms for MD and such, (MD rework) it’s just that rooms need to have an actual purpose and have to combine with the rest of the environment, and if unnecessary, pushed far back or made gigantic so you can unrender details across the map with the new loading system (ex; new epsilon)

E&TS are being added since they existed pre-shutdown, and the reactor suggestions are fair, but stuff like the storage system and building system i doubt will be added, since in preshutdown, there used to be a logistics department, which did duties like refilling ammo and such, and it was so bad to both deal with and play on, that i’m pretty sure it’s never coming back
i feel like E&TS can sustain a good enough gameplay loop with the DMR/reactor, so i don’t think a ton of extra stuff like this needs to be added
not to mention concerns with activity, since you’d need a lot of people on in order to consistently and properly do these things

character creation might seem like a harmless suggestion, but considering the biggest source of lag seems to be the loadout system, and the character creation system most likely using the loadout system as well, i’d imagine it could cause way more lag than need be by just existing because of how complex it is
i’d also imagine it possibly being annoying for enforcement personnel to deal with, since anyone can just change how they look in the menu and possibly avoid punishment
sorta the same thing with hygiene, since everyone except like some civils and FP would be unhygenic all the time, and would be annoying to deal with (2nd hunger bar but even more annoying to deal with)

riot system should probably be a separate post i’ll be real
and i’d imagine limited medical items being absolutely infuriating for CDs, since it’s not uncommon to be alive for 20 minutes to 3 hours and beyond once you’re out of CDC, and refilling medical kits would basically be similar to refilling hunger before you could use vending machines, which was an absolute nightmare to deal with (either go SD spawn or shoot up phi and eat at the cafe)
