Restructure SD and CD gameplay

Omicron should be restructured entirely, remove GL, and just make it fences and Gates, sort of similar to Glacier, SD should only guard areas of interest (areas where CD can escape) around Omicron to limit direct combat with SD and make SD gameplay more fair and fun by requiring us to not be chained at GL 24/7, this makes CD gameplay more interesting since they have to plan out an escape.

We also separate the mines and place them to the left of the CDCZ GL area since it’s rioter heaven (don’t let mines connect CB and GL now), and just make it like back in the day when CB was directly near/connected to GL, keep MMH and FH and whatever of course to make sure Mines is still fair to CD and let it only be an area of interest to us when CDs are rioting or are holding SCP boxes in there.

For DFSC’s, we can let CD’s choose via a UI option whether they would like to re-enter the game as a regular CD again, but make them unarmed for the full 10 minutes after choosing, ergo making them unable to riot, or we can let them choose to enter a DFSC hangout where they can listen to music or play minigames to pass the time.

Also, we should probably remove Sleep in general since it makes gameplay unfun for both sides, SDs are either fighting for their life to LD CB only to die over and over and only for it to turn breakfast again and CDs have to stay in their cell for a few minutes or so which bores their gameplay, we can instead just keep Lockup and make that last 5 minutes where SD just hold the yellow line, which makes sure SD and CD gameplay is more fair and balanced and fun.

For CDs getting weapons on spawn, I don’t think that should happen in-game, I believe that people who got game passes should be refunded. I think instead there can be a daily reward system where if a CD completes a set amount of tasks, they receive tools for the entire day to riot (this can be implemented when more CD jobs come along), this makes SD gameplay more fair and CD gameplay more interesting.

Besides this, MaD can also create Security machines set up in place to make CD escape harder, such as how Blacksite Zeta has their systems with the Sentires, and maybe there can be boxes placed near the Sentires that CDs have to destroy to get past the Sentries, or maybe there can be a 10 Second cooldown so the Sentry can reload, giving CDs time to escape the area the Sentry is guarding, there can also be Security Cameras set up around the site, and whenever suspicious activity is caught moving near the Cameras, we can be alerted in Combatives channel about specific activity near X for example, which can also make CD escape more interesting instead of just allowing them to walk out of Omicron.

Besides this, Omicron should also be made larger in general to compensate for the ease of Class-D escape, right now in-game, Omicron is way too small and if there are minimal Security Personnel on-site, Class-D’s can simply just walk out of Omicron without much travel or obstacles, making Omicron larger and more complex could limit the ability of Class-D’s just being able to walk out of Omicron.

Also in general relating to the tasks that CDs can complete to get items from their Vendor for the day, CDs should be given more tasks to do in general to deepen their gameplay, such as maybe sweeping up a dirty area which gives them 100 credits each time they sweep up an area, or doing Laundry in the Laundry room (while supervised by SD and disarmed) and each time they complete a set of laundry bins, they get 50 credits.

i don’t know if that’s possible, and if it’s legal
nor if it is practical, as i have no idea how you’re gonna monetize the game without guns

i think the main problem with this post is just the fact that escaping wouldn’t really be worth it if it was that hard
since escaping just gives you the ability to start trying to do whatever you were planning
you still have to deal with CR, epsilon, etc, once you do escape
and i’d imagine it puts CDs on an even worse disadvantage, since you can’t even really get strength in numbers once you escape because of how difficult it is
especially with the fact that there’s gonna be more combatives outside of CDC because they’re not needed there

and even if you do manage to go CR or epsilon, you don’t really even get that much stronger
yeah a CD with speed, kraken, python, and wolves vest armor, seems strong, but you can still pepper spray them, taze them, use the riot foam truck, use your own super strong gear, etc
and even if you are that strong, what are you actually gonna do
breaching SCPs is still basically impossible with the gear you have, and breaching doesn’t do much for you even if you manage to do it

there’s basically no reason to riot
especially with rioting for combat at CDC being basically removed with this gameplay rework
and since there’s literally no form of CD gameplay outside of rioting, there’s basically no reason to play the game (since every other activity you listed is to help CDs riot)

lets say you’re a CD, what motivation do you have to play the game?
nothing, there’s literally no reason to play since there’s nothing fun to do

I understand and do think you are correct on this post, I have now changed the focus of this post over to the depth of CD gameplay, and I do believe that CDs should have more gameplay aspects in the future, for SD I am ENTIRELY unsure of how the game loop for SD, especially Base SD is going to be fixed, thank you for your input.

I do not agree with this, the ability to rejoin as Class-D unarmed just means you get someone to help you out of Omicron and to the Hostile crates where you can get rearmed.

In addition the ability to be able to play minigames and listen to music while in SC defeats the whole point of it being a ‘punishment’ for rioting, etc.

Also this suggests that DFSC Class-Ds will just be automatically Confined when they become DFSC, this takes away from trying to avoid SD and be elusive, it also takes away from one of SDs duties. (Some may find this positive and may some find this negative)

SC isn’t a punishment for rioting, it’s to give SD a break
rioting is a part of CD gameplay, and pretty much the only fun thing to do, especially considering that waiting for tests is not only disincentivized for it taking up to an hour, but with it’s also disincentivized by sleep, lockup, uproar, red heron,etc.
it’s the fault of the games design that the literal most fun and intended way to play it hurts other players experience (and CDs as well since it stops tests and causes uproars)

plus, they literally sell gun gamepasses that are intended to make it so you can riot (g17 and m1911 description)

you could just make it so SC’d CDs couldn’t equip guns at all and it would fix the issue

paragon does have a similar system though, where SC’d CDs just lose their guns and the ability to use vendors, but can mine to bail out of SC and can pick up dropped guns from dead guards, and from my experience, it actually works really well

Fair enough that actually makes sense.

As well I agree with the issues with test waiting and being locked up during protocols.

As SD having people SCd does give us a break so yea fair enough.
