A re-occurring issue with why Pathos performance plays terribly is when the servers stay up for too long. SCPF sites such Area-Omega utilize a 6 hour server restart timer function which in turn would refresh the server’s performance to be more consistent whilst not requiring an admin to perform the action as the server’s performance degrades over time. The timer would appear on the left side corner either on the right side or below the server region indicator.
The main drawback to implementing this feature is when events are hosted at an inconvenient time (Ex: hosting a test/lore event during the last hour). So it should be emphasized to host activity events in earlier hours after the reset whilst mutually at the same time server performance can allow itself to reset in keeping performance consistent so we are not met with instances where player counts are dropping downwards of 20+ in the afternoon due to complaints of lag.
This month’s performance has been terrible due to there being another lag-source in the game which is dropping FPS from 60 to average 55-40 FPS and at low with 15-35 FPS in combat. The server life just amplifies these issues at hand and may be one step in the right direction to fixing the degrading quality of Pathos.
